In Denmark we have been doing some pilot schemes to allow cyclists to turn right on a red light. It has proven to be a success, and therefore riders can now legally turn right on a red light if they see a specific bike sign at the traffic lights.
The new sign can only be put up at traffic lights, where it is safe for traffic. This means that the sign will not be put up at junctions with heavy traffic, with many pedestrians, or where the bike path is very narrow.
One thing is Denmark, but what are the views on this issue among cyclist in a wider context?
